Sharon Osbourne has shared a heartbreaking update on her husband Ozzy Osbourne's health, revealing that the 76-year-old rock legend can no longer walk as his Parkinson's disease progresses. Despite his condition, Ozzy is set to perform one last time with Black Sabbath at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5.
Speaking to The Sun, Sharon said: 'He's very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this. Parkinson's is a progressive disease. It's not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body and it's affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it's ever been.'
Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2020, will play a short solo set before joining original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for their first reunion in over 20 years. The gig, titled 'Back to the Beginning', will also feature performances from Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, and many others.
Proceeds from the event will support Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorn Children's Hospice. Ozzy, who is moving back to the UK next month, reflected on his health during a Sirius XM interview, saying: 'I can't walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I'm still alive.'
