CBS announced the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last July, with the final episode airing on 21 May. Now, as Colbert says his final goodnight after an 11-year run, we invite you to share your favorite moments from the beloved talkshow.

A Legacy of Late-Night Television

The show was originally created by David Letterman in 1993 after his departure from NBC. Letterman hosted for 22 years before retiring and passing the reins to Colbert, who had gained fame on Comedy Central as a member of The Daily Show. Colbert brought his unique blend of satire and warmth to the program, maintaining the highest ratings among late-night talkshows for nine consecutive years.

CBS cited financial reasons for the cancellation, though many observers interpreted it as a political gesture toward Donald Trump, ahead of a merger between Skydance and Paramount, CBS's parent company.
