Celebrity Big Brother viewers have voiced frustration over the timing of the first eviction, which saw Gary Goldsmith, the maternal uncle of Kate Middleton, become the first housemate to leave the show on Monday night.
Fans took to social media to complain that the eviction came too soon, with the series having only launched on March 4. One viewer wrote: "I'm sorry this is kinda ridiculous I don't even know these housemates yet and we're doing an eviction... This pacing is stupid #CBBUK." Another added: "It's not even been 5 full days and there's already an eviction, it's too soon #cbbuk."
The eviction process saw Sharon Osbourne nominate Gary, calling him the "oddball" and claiming he seemed "insecure". She explained: "I don't think he's that comfortable here. He's brave to have come in here. I somehow don't think this is the place for him." Meanwhile, the other housemates nominated Lauren, who was visibly upset in the Diary Room, saying: "I don't like living with snakes. I am who I am."
Gary, 58, survived just five days on the ITV reality show before being evicted by public vote, leaving viewers questioning the show's pacing.
