Shane Richie's son mocks dad's drink-drive arrest

Shane Richie's son has taken a swipe at his dad's drink-drive arrest during a stand-up performance. Shane Richie Jr, 37, was hosting an evening with his mother Coleen Nolan called This Is Me at Bush Hall in Shepherd's Bush, just days after his father's arrest at a Tesco petrol station.

Arrest at Tesco Petrol Station

The EastEnders star, 62, known for playing Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, was filmed arguing with staff at the Tesco petrol station in Harlow, Essex, shortly after 11pm earlier this week. Police arrived and arrested and charged him with drink driving.

The video shows Shane being told not to vape in the petrol station. He was overheard swearing at staff, telling one person to "f*** off" and later saying "I don't give a f***" when told how dangerous vaping was.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a suspected drink driver in the area of Church Langley Way, Harlow, shortly before 11.20pm on Wednesday 29 July."

"On arrival, officers arrested a man. A charge of drink driving has subsequently been authorised against Shane Roche, 62, of Tadworth, Surrey. He is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 September."

Son's Joke During Show

Seemingly taking a swipe at his dad's arrest, Shane Jr warmed up the London audience before his mum came on stage. He poked fun at his dad, saying he was drinking before his mum's event but would not be driving the three-hour trip back to his home in Stoke, Staffs, with his partner and baby son.

He told the audience: "The more you drink the funnier I get. Is anyone having a drink tonight? But remember don't drink and drive. Don't do it." The gag was met with heckles, some of which were boos, The Sun reports.

Shane continued: "What? What? I am driving home… there is lots to talk about. What am I doing after the show? I am taking my eight month old baby and my beautiful girlfriend back to Staffordshire. That is what I am doing. I won't be driving. I am drinking tonight."

He then spoke more directly about both of his parents with a flurry of tongue-in-cheek jokes.
