Patrick Grant has revealed that a contestant on the current series of The Great British Sewing Bee brought the judges to tears with their exceptional skill.
Speaking on This Morning on Wednesday, July 22, Grant told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about the impact of one participant.
Goosebumps and Tears
When asked if he feels inspired by the talent on the show, Grant said: “I am! There is somebody in this series who has absolutely put goose pimples - I get goosebumps. Esme and I are the same. There's somebody here who is so talented and so amazing and did not know it at all. The things that they produce are so extraordinary, they literally brought us to tears, we did a proper Keith from pottery and wept a couple of times.”
Grant added: “Some of the stuff they create is absolutely extraordinary, there's been some incredible moments. But yes, there are some real, real talent. Somebody this year, I think, is the best person we've ever seen.”
New Host and Series
The BBC competition returned for its 12th series this year, with 12 contestants vying to become Britain's Best Amateur Sewer and win the golden mannequin trophy. Patrick Grant and Esme Young are back as judges, while comedian, writer and actor Sophie Willan has joined as the new host, replacing Sara Pascoe.
