Selena Gomez Reveals Two Taylor Swift Songs About Her

Selena Gomez has confirmed that Taylor Swift wrote not one but two songs about her, with only one ever released. The revelation came during an appearance on her husband Benny Blanco's video series Friends Keep Secrets on Tuesday.

Gomez, 33, said that the track 'Dorothea' from Swift's 2020 album Evermore is about her. Fans had long speculated this, noting lyrics about a woman 'sellin' make-up' which seemed to reference Gomez's Rare Beauty line. Swift had described the song as being about a girl who left her small town for Hollywood dreams.

In addition, Gomez revealed an unreleased song called 'Family' that the pair wrote together over a decade ago. 'It was basically saying you have these amazing dreams. You want to be in a movie, in every crowd I see you,' Gomez recalled. 'Then her part was, you believe in my stupid dreams, like playing stadiums.'

Gomez and Swift first met in 2008 when they were dating Joe and Nick Jonas respectively. They quickly became close, with Swift calling Gomez 'the closest thing I've ever had to a sister'. Gomez has said Swift was her only friend in the entertainment industry.

Reflecting on their 17-year friendship, Gomez said: 'It's absolutely unbelievable to come from multiple heartbreaks and love stories and fun stories in life. We both ended up being engaged around the same time and that was the coolest part.' Swift attended Gomez's wedding to Benny Blanco in September and gave a speech.
