Rhea Seehorn Rejects Quentin Tarantino’s Criticism of Television as ‘Forgettable’

Rhea Seehorn, star of Pluribus and Better Call Saul, has pushed back against Quentin Tarantino’s recent remarks that television is a “forgettable” medium compared to film. The Oscar-winning director made the comment during a 2024 appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Speaking to Rolling Stone at the SXSW film festival, Seehorn said: “I mean, there’s forgettable films just like there’s forgettable television and then there’s ones that stick with you.” She cited The Leftovers and Six Feet Under as examples of TV shows that have stayed with her.

Seehorn’s Better Call Saul and Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan also weighed in, noting that while he does not know Tarantino personally, “I betcha he’s telling the truth for him.” Gilligan added that he still thinks about classic shows like The Twilight Zone, The Andy Griffith Show, M*A*S*H, and WKRP in Cincinnati.

This is not the first time Tarantino has faced backlash for controversial comments. In late 2025, he described actor Paul Dano as the “giant flaw” in There Will Be Blood, prompting defences from Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Stiller.

Seehorn currently stars in Gilligan’s sci-fi series Pluribus, which premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2025. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe for Best Female Actor in a Television Series Drama at the 2026 ceremony.
