Sebastian Stan, 43, has officially announced that he is expecting a child with his girlfriend, actress Annabelle Wallis, 41. The couple has all but confirmed they are starting a family together, and Stan recently shared his thoughts on impending fatherhood in an interview with Deadline.
Stan's Commitment to Fatherhood
"I want to be a good dad," Stan told Deadline, emphasizing the seriousness with which he approaches this new role. He cited the male loneliness epidemic and concerns of misogyny in the world as factors that weigh on him. Reflecting on Scott Galloway's book Notes on Being a Man, Stan expressed the importance of being his best self. "I'm feeling the responsibility of being a good father," he said. "And not to mention a good man. I'm 43 and I feel, in a lot of ways, I'm just starting to learn now. It's just crazy to me."
Stan added that he values understanding different perspectives: "So, I love when I see I'm discovering different people's point of view. I try to read as much as I can, no matter what the point of view is, just to understand it."
Annabelle Wallis's Baby Bump
Wallis has been seen with a baby bump recently, including at a glamorous Met Gala afterparty where her blossoming torso was cloaked beneath a bright orange dress. The couple, who have kept their relationship relatively private, were first romantically linked in May 2022.
Two years into their relationship, they began making red carpet appearances together, including at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Globes in 2024 and 2025. Their public outings come one month after reports that the pair were preparing to welcome their first child together.
Stan's Rare Insight into Their Relationship
In a May 2025 cover story in Vanity Fair, Stan gave rare insight into their relationship. "I feel like it's really difficult nowadays to be able to have any privacy whatsoever," he said, adding that their relationship "is not something either of them discuss" publicly. He explained that his personal life is "the one part of my life that I try to keep somewhat for myself, even though it sort of ends up being out there."
The couple was first seen in public in 2022 at mutual friend Robert Pattinson's birthday party in New York City. They kept a low profile until 2024, when they started attending public events together. Stan brought Wallis as his date for the premiere of A Different Man at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2024, and three months later, they hit the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for his project The Apprentice. In January 2025, the lovebirds attended the Golden Globes, where Stan won his first Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film for A Different Man. He ended his speech with a sweet shoutout to Wallis, saying, "Annabelle, I love you."
