Comedian Seann Walsh has revealed why he is returning to reality TV on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, years after his Strictly Come Dancing scandal. He will enter the jungle alongside former health secretary Matt Hancock during Wednesday night's episode.
In a teaser clip, Walsh said: 'It seems that every single person that does the jungle says it’s the best experience of their life. So I’m up for that, I’m up for the best experience of my life. Who wouldn’t be?' He added: 'Over the years I’ve read a lot of things about myself and, you know, it does hurt and so I’d love for it to be a kind of new start and just maybe change opinions.'
Walsh's Strictly scandal in 2018 saw him and pro partner Katya Jones photographed in a clinch while both had partners. He said his current partner, Grace Adderley, convinced him to take part. 'Grace is the main reason why I am doing I’m A Celebrity,' he said, noting he nearly turned it down due to fear of public perception.
Walsh admitted he is unlikely to be crowned King of the Jungle: 'I would be absolutely astounded. I tend to be someone who doesn’t think about that sort of thing.' He said he wants to 'make some new friends and new memories and have a nice time.'
Meanwhile, Matt Hancock said in his own video: 'Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in. People will see me warts and all. See the human side of the guy behind the podium.'
