Scarlett Moffatt 'beyond devastated' after mother-in-law Janice dies
Scarlett Moffatt devastated by mother-in-law's death

County Durham TV star Scarlett Moffatt has shared a moving tribute to her fiancé's mother after experiencing two family deaths within weeks. The Gogglebox and I'm a Celebrity favourite posted on Instagram about her mother-in-law Janice's death, saying it had left her "absolutely devastated."

Tribute to Janice

Scarlett is engaged to police officer Scott Dobinson and has a two-year-old son, Jude, with him. The couple are expecting a second baby boy soon. She shared her sadness that "Nan Jan" had passed away, following a family funeral service this week.

Posting a picture of Janice, Scarlett wrote: "Today we said goodbye to Jude's Nan Jan. She loved looking at my insta stories so here's one just for you. Thank you for raising the greatest gentleman in Scott, for always being kind and patient with me & for truly being a one of a kind Nan."

She added: "I'm beyond devastated you won't get to meet your other grandson but I know you'll be watching over all of us. I know you are now at peace and pain free, but selfishly I will miss you everyday. Love you forever."

Second family loss

Scarlett described Janice as "one of the loveliest people" she has ever known. In a separate Instagram post, she wrote: "My heart is broken for Scott and all of his family at the loss of his mam Janice. You were the best Nanna to Jude, the kindest mother-in-law and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known."

This comes less than a fortnight after the TV star posted about her grandfather's death, which appears to have occurred between Janice's death and her funeral. At the time, she said: "Unfortunately, more sad news for our family this week. My grandad Moffatt has sadly passed away. Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you’ve shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much."
