Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, is reportedly in advanced talks for a tell-all documentary series that could net her millions. A senior production source told the Sunday Express that negotiations are ongoing with at least two major studios, including Netflix, through an unnamed third party acting on her behalf.
Potential earnings and content
The source estimated that if the deal goes through, Ferguson could earn around £18.7 million. The documentary would likely cover her life with Prince Andrew, affairs during and after their marriage, and their connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Ferguson's name appeared hundreds of times in emails linked to the late paedophile, and records show she visited him twice in 2009 while he was serving a sentence for soliciting a minor.
Conditions and risks
The third party negotiating for Ferguson has stipulated that interviews must be conducted outside the United States to avoid the risk of being subpoenaed by the Congressional House Oversight Committee investigating the Epstein case. The source noted that Ferguson has not been accused of any crimes and is not under police investigation, unlike her ex-husband.
Failed memoir and other projects
This news follows Ferguson's failed attempt to secure a £1.5 million advance for her memoir with New York publishers earlier this year. She has also struggled to find work in America, where she previously worked as a correspondent for NBC's Today show and as a spokesperson for Weight Watchers.
