Samraj Toor has spoken out after being voted out of the Love Island villa just one day before the live final. The 25-year-old model, an original cast member of ITV's 13th season, left the show alongside Mica Harris after receiving the most votes from the eliminated Islanders.
Despite a journey that saw them briefly separate—Samraj recoupled with Priya while Mica explored connections with Simba and Chidi—the pair reunited and finished the show together. Samraj now describes his experience as 'profound' and has made a bold prediction about his future with Mica.
Samraj's future plans
Speaking after his exit, Samraj said: "When I look back, this will be a very, very key, if not the most memorable, moment in my life as a whole. I'm so thankful for everything that I experienced because, at the end of the day, I'm leaving with the woman that I love. I can't ask for much more than that."
He hinted that he felt destined to be with Mica despite doubts from other islanders about their long-term compatibility—Mica is based in Barbados, while Samraj had been living in Germany. The couple also landed in the bottom three during a public vote. Samraj said: "Every time me and Mica stood up there, and we stood up there a few times, I've always fought for us because it wasn't our time. Now that we're in love, she looked at me and said, 'If we go, are you okay to go?' I'm happy to go this time. This was the first time I was happy to go."
Frustration with voting reasons
Samraj expressed frustration with the justifications given for their elimination, particularly the mention of a "friends-to-lovers" dynamic. He said: "What didn't sit right with me was some of the justifications people were using. People have mentioned friends-to-lovers as a reason. I don't get that. If anything, you have more of a solid foundation."
He added: "I can't wait to prove people wrong. In five years' time, six years' time, Mica's got a big ring on her finger, and she's expecting—'Oh, friends-to-lovers doesn't work?' I can't wait. Time will prove stuff."
One regret
Samraj admitted one regret: using the word 'ick' when discussing his previous partner Priya. He said: "I think I regret using the big 'ick' word that I'm getting dragged for. It wasn't an ick. It was small stuff that was kind of just grating away at me. So I regret using the word 'ick'."
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
