Sam Faiers has faced criticism over her parenting after a clip from her new ITV reality show showed her two-year-old son Edward throwing a tantrum in a restaurant. The 34-year-old TOWIE star stars alongside her sister Billie in 'Sam & Billie: Sister Act', which offers an unfiltered look into their family lives.
In the scene, the family is waiting for lunch when Edward begins to lose patience. When the food arrives, he throws chips at his seven-year-old sister Rosie, who was eating quietly. Sam tells him off, but he continues to misbehave, wandering around the eatery and even attempting to take her lip gloss from her bag.
Edward then returns to the table with a large glass of apple juice, calling it 'heavy'. Sam asks why he is so cheeky, and he smiles. He later crawls under a chair and refuses to stand up, prompting Sam to decide to leave, saying: 'I think it's time to cut our losses and get out of here.'
The clip, shared on TikTok, drew criticism from viewers who accused Sam of having no control over her children. One commented: 'She sat in her chair ate her food and then played with what ever I took with us to occupy her. She was not allowed to get out of her chair and certainly did not throw her food at people. I’m sorry very poor parenting.' Others claimed gentle parenting does not work.
However, some defended Sam, noting the challenges of parenting a toddler. One said: 'Leave her alone, it’s the most stressful age to take anywhere and she will be judged whatever she does.' Another added: 'Anyone else think that there’s nothing abnormal here??? It’s not going to be picture perfect! He’s tried and bored! Give the kids a break!'
