Actress Sally Lindsay, best known for her role as Shelley Unwin on Coronation Street, is currently starring in Channel 5's new drama 'Number One Fan'. Away from the screen, she is married to Steve White, former drummer of The Style Council and the Paul Weller Band.
The couple met in 2004 at a Manchester gig where Steve was performing. Lindsay recalled to The Times: 'When I met Steve, I was done with relationships. Half the blokes I met just wanted to be with a bird off the telly, and the other half were terrified of me.' She described seeing him on stage as 'all passion and energy' and called him a 'real gentleman, with this gorgeous beaming smile'.
They married in 2013 in a star-studded ceremony attended by friends including Gok Wan, Alan Carr, Suranne Jones, and Denise Welch. The couple are parents to twin boys, Louie and Victor, born in 2010.
In an interview with Prima magazine, Lindsay shared insights into their marriage: 'Steve and I have been together 20 years and married for 10. Working away a lot is what keeps the spark in our marriage – I genuinely believe that. We always have loads to talk about.' She also praised Steve's role in her professional life, saying he is 'head of music' on her shows.
Lindsay previously told The Mirror that she didn't want children until she met Steve. 'I thought it was made up, you know, that urge that you desperately want to procreate. I couldn't believe it when it happened to me. It's because of Steve that we have Victor and Louie. They're brilliant, hilarious and cheeky, and they've changed my life. I would die for those boys.'
