Coronation Street star Sair Khan has been a familiar face on the cobbles since 2014, playing Alya Nazir. While her on-screen storylines have tackled racism and romance with Adam Barlow, her off-screen love life has often made headlines.
Here's a look at her relationships, from a fellow soap star to her current partner and new father of her child.
Relationship with Emmerdale's Simon Lennon
Sair was in a two-year relationship with Simon Lennon, known for playing Ben Tucker in Emmerdale and 'Brains' in Michelle Keegan's drama Our Girl. The pair met in December 2017 at Buckingham Palace, both being former members of the National Youth Theatre attending a gala for its 60th anniversary.
Simon was there to greet Sair when she left the I'm a Celebrity jungle in 2018.
The Split
The couple separated in 2019, reportedly due to work commitments. A source told The Sun that Sair's training for Channel 4's Sink or Swim was more difficult than expected, taking an emotional toll and pushing the relationship to breaking point.
That same year, Sair announced her mother's death in a heartfelt Instagram post, saying: "My mum died. It's so hard for me to say those words without getting a lump in my throat" and that she had "cried enough tears to fill the English Channel."
New Romance with Nathan
After the split, Sair found love with chiropractor Nathan, whom she met through a mutual friend in 2020. In 2022, Nathan underwent surgery to remove a benign bone tumour on his pelvis, and Sair praised him for being "open and vulnerable" about his health challenges.
In May 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Ayaan. Sair shared on Instagram that he was "super strong and so resilient" after a 22-hour labour, adding: "It was raw and primal and I'm glad I kept an open heart and no expectations because my gosh I had NO IDEA what a ride I was in for."
Sair continues to appear on Coronation Street, where her cousin Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) has recently developed a romantic connection with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
