Sair Khan's Love Life: From Emmerdale Ex to New Love

Sair Khan, known for playing Alya Nazir on Coronation Street since 2014, has had a love life that often made headlines. She previously dated fellow soap star Simon Lennon, best known for his role as Ben Tucker in Emmerdale and 'Brains' in Our Girl.

Romance with Emmerdale Star

Sair and Simon began a two-year relationship after meeting at Buckingham Palace in December 2017. She said: "We met at Buckingham Palace. We were both members of the National Youth Theatre, and they have a big gala to celebrate their 60th anniversary. A load of ex-members were invited to that evening at Buckingham Palace, so we met through a mutual friend that he's in Our Girl with."

Why They Split

The couple parted ways in 2019. A source claimed to The Sun that Sair's training for Channel 4's Sink or Swim "pushed her relationship to breaking point." During the same year, Sair revealed her mother had died, writing on Instagram: "My mum died. It's so hard for me to say those words without getting a lump in my throat" and said she had "cried enough tears to fill the English Channel."

New Romance

After her split from Simon, Sair began a relationship with chiropractor Nathan, whom she met through a mutual friend in 2020. In 2022, Nathan had surgery to remove a benign bone tumour on his pelvis; Sair said she was "so proud" of his openness. In May 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Ayaan. Sair described the 22-hour labour as a "rollercoaster," adding: "It was raw and primal and I'm glad I kept an open heart and no expectations."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
