Saffron Barker could not hold back the tears as she spoke about the end of her relationship with model Josh Miln. The 26-year-old influencer, who danced on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, revealed the split in a YouTube vlog on Wednesday.
Move to New York prompted breakup
Barker initially moved to Dubai to be with Miln, but the couple parted ways when she relocated to New York to enrol in drama school. In her vlog, she explained: "As you guys know, I came to New York. I came here nearly six weeks ago now, I came here for an acting school. When I first came to New York, Josh and I were still together. However, since being here, our relationship has ended."
She added: "Obviously we were together for nearly two years but we also pretty much lived with each other for two years. And anyone that has lived with a partner will know when you live with someone it feels like you've been with them a lifetime."
Emotional plea for self-love
Fighting tears, Barker said: "It's very fresh it's very new. I've cried way too much already. I really don't want to cry again. If this relationship and all my relationships have taught me anything it's probably just that I need to really focus on self love and focus on myself and do things that are going to make me happy."
The social media star, who has over two million YouTube subscribers, tearfully thanked her fans for their support, saying she felt "really loved." At the end of the clip, she forced a smile and described the split as "just one of those things."
Past hopes for family
Miln has not commented on the breakup. Barker, who also appeared on Celebrity Hunted and The Celebrity Circle, previously told The Mirror she hoped to start a family with Miln after a "couple more years of focusing on our careers." She noted that his modeling work allowed him to travel and support her.
