Rylan Clark has arranged a private jet to fly his mother Linda back to the UK after she was hospitalised following a fall while on holiday. The 34-year-old television presenter shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of a sleek private aircraft on a runway.
Linda, 71, suffered a serious fall earlier this month, resulting in broken bones and requiring surgery abroad. Rylan had previously asked fans for prayers, explaining that his mother's other health conditions complicated her recovery. He missed his BBC Radio 2 show to be by her side.
In a humorous caption, Rylan wrote: "She might have broke an arm and a leg but she's cost me an arm and a leg! LINDAS COMING HOME!!" He also thanked the medical team at Helicopteros Sanitarios for their care.
Fans and celebrities alike celebrated the good news. Ruth Langsford commented "Fantastic news! Safe journey home," while Vanessa Feltz wrote "Worth it!" Jenny Frost added: "No place like home, especially when you don't feel good... Safe travels."
Rylan has previously credited his mother with helping him through his 2021 marriage breakdown to Dan Neal, during which he suffered a breakdown and lost significant weight. He described her as a "lifesaver" and regretted the strain it placed on her.
