Rylan Clark Reveals Mum Linda's Health Stops Their Own TV Show

Rylan Clark and his mother Linda are set to appear on Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday, but the presenter has revealed the heartbreaking reason they will not be getting their own television show. Since 2019, the duo has captivated audiences with their charming and witty dynamic, leading to widespread calls for a dedicated series. However, Rylan told the Daily Star that while they have been offered numerous projects, including a travel show, Linda's health prevents it. "It would be hilarious, but she's just not well enough to do it," he explained. "Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we're just sat in my kitchen."

Linda's Health Struggles

Rylan has been open about his mother's ongoing battle with Crohn's disease, a long-term condition where part of the gut becomes inflamed. According to the NHS, there is no cure, but treatments exist to manage symptoms. In October 2021, during his BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan also revealed Linda's skin cancer diagnosis. "So mummy, and it's all fine, she's got skin cancer on her face, but she's absolutely fine. It's not life-threatening and it's just spread a little bit, so we're getting it all cut away," he said.

Other Appearances

While a joint TV show is off the table, Linda frequently appears on Rylan's BBC Radio 2 programme, Rylan on Saturday, and his YouTube series, Air Rylan. During a recent radio exchange, Rylan admitted to tracking her location via his phone after she showed up unannounced while he had a guest. Linda was taken aback, but Rylan stood firm, saying, "I told you categorically that day, 'Don't come round tomorrow morning, I'm not there', and what did you do?"
