Ryanair has issued a brutal three-word response to a passenger who complained about his window seat, sparking a viral reaction on social media. The passenger, identified as Toby, posted on X that he was 'disgusted' after paying for a window seat on a Ryanair flight, sharing a photo showing him seated next to a sidewall panel with a window visible over his shoulder.
Viral Complaint and Social Media Reactions
Toby's post, which has been viewed more than 6.4 million times, drew a flurry of comments from X users. One user remarked: 'No, you didn't pay for a window seat. You paid for a seat on the window side of the plane.' Another quipped: 'This is why you use seat maps. This one tricks a lot of folks.' A third commented: 'No you didn't and I'm sure you can manage a couple of hours without needing to see out the window.'
A fourth user pointed out: 'This is the famous Row 11 (or 12 depending on the Boeing 737 model). It's practically an internet heritage site at this point. You should feel honoured to sit in a meme history location.'
Ryanair's Hilarious Rebuttal
Ryanair reposted Toby's tweet with a large red arrow pointing to the window behind him, accompanied by the three-word reply: 'Hope this helps.' The airline's response was widely shared and praised for its wit. However, some users criticized the airline, noting that another passenger had been partially sucked out of a window on a different Ryanair flight. 'Nah, this ain't it,' an X user told Ryanair. 'The best time to delete this post was when you posted it; The second-best time was now.'
Separate Incident: Passenger Partially Sucked Out of Window
The reference to the separate incident involved a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, on July 10, 2026. A passenger was reportedly partially sucked out of a shattered window, requiring medical attention. According to reports, the male passenger was pulled through the opening up to his shoulders, leaving his head exposed outside the aircraft. Ryanair confirmed the incident in a statement: 'A Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday morning (10 July) returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off when a passenger window dislodged inflight. The aircraft landed normally and passengers returned to the terminal. One passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground in Thessaloniki. In order to minimise any delay, a replacement aircraft was arranged to bring passengers to Memmingen which departed Thessaloniki at 9:53 local this morning.'
