The couple, who met on Channel 4's Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in 2017, have two children together: Roman, six, and Lilah, three. Ryan also has a daughter, Scarlett, from a previous relationship with Tina O'Brien.
Sources suggest that Lucy, who comes from a wealthy family, is cautious about Ryan's financial situation. Her father, Paul, is a property investor, and Lucy has been taught to be financially prudent. Ryan, on the other hand, has admitted to past financial mistakes, including filing for bankruptcy in 2013 due to an unpaid tax bill.
Recent filings for Ryan's business account, R James Thomas Ltd., show that as of January 2025, the account had just £1, down from £41,361 the previous year. This follows the cancellation of his ITV show 99 To Beat. Despite this, a source said Lucy is proud of Ryan for recovering from his financial difficulties.
Ryan has previously spoken about his money management issues, saying he had a credit card from a young age and was always late with repayments. He does not regret his past, calling it a 'blessing' that taught him valuable lessons. The couple's wedding plans remain on hold, with no immediate date set.
