Ruth Langsford has dismissed rumours that she secretly visited a hairdresser during lockdown, addressing the speculation in an Instagram video on Monday. The This Morning presenter, 60, first sparked the claims on Sunday when she posted a picture of herself walking her dog with her hair down.
In the video, which was shared with her 848,000 followers, Langsford showed off her roots and said: 'A few people have been saying, Oh Ruth, have you been secretly having your roots done? Er, no! Look at them!' She zoomed in on her hair, adding: 'Look how dark... If I'd been having my roots done by a hairdresser, I'd be asking for my money back.'
Langsford, who is married to Eamonn Holmes, explained that she had her hair done just before lockdown but the dark roots are now showing. She also revealed that her gel nails are coming off, saying: 'I'm trying to save some and trying to take some off. Isn't this fun?'
The TV star captioned the post: 'NO I haven’t had my roots/highlights done! I do use a brightening shampoo for blonde hair a couple of times a week though...' Her ITV colleague Stacey Solomon commented: 'Omg my roots are soooooo bad. I aspire to have your roots.'
This is not the first time Langsford has addressed the rumours. On Sunday, she replied to a fan saying it was not true, and later reiterated: 'Absolutely have NOT had highlights or anything else done to my hair... I literally washed it!!!!'
