Television presenter Ruth Langsford is said to be "furious" with her estranged husband, Eamonn Holmes, after he reportedly made no effort to contact their son, Jack, during the recent Christmas and New Year period.
Family Festive Fallout
The Loose Women star is allegedly deeply upset by the snub, with insiders suggesting she "won't forgive" her ex for the oversight. The couple, who announced their divorce in June 2024 after 14 years of marriage, are said to be navigating a particularly bitter split, which was reportedly triggered after Ruth discovered messages from Eamonn to another woman.
A source close to Ruth told Bella magazine: "Ruth is furious that Eamonn made no attempt to reach out to his son Jack to offer an olive branch and try to build bridges over Christmas and New Year. She says the least Eamonn could have done was to reach out and wish him good tidings and keep the door open."
Wider Family Rifts
The reported Christmas cold shoulder was not limited to Jack. According to sources, Eamonn, 65, also gave "the cold shoulder" to his older children from his first marriage—son Niall and daughter Rebecca—during the festive season. This follows a reported "massive fallout" between Eamonn and Niall in July 2024, after Eamonn attended an engagement party with his new partner, counsellor Katie Alexander.
An insider claimed to The Sun at the time: "Niall and Eamonn had a huge row following his split from Ruth. Things were said between them that cannot be unsaid... Eamonn accused him of siding with Ruth." Another source suggested all of Eamonn's children are "upset, hurt and embarrassed" by his behaviour and feel pressured to pick sides.
New Partner and Public Digs
Since the separation, Eamonn has moved on with Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior. His relationship has reportedly been a point of contention. Earlier in January 2026, Eamonn was said to have made a pointed remark at a colleague's engagement party, gushing that Katie was his "soulmate" and quipping: "In sickness you find out who is there for you."
Friends of the family responded, stating his children were unhappy with the alleged jibe, noting: "As far as they see it, Ruth isn't the one swanning around with someone new and younger on her arm." Eamonn, who has undergone significant surgery including a double hip replacement, is often seen using a wheelchair due to chronic pain.
The Mirror has contacted Eamonn Holmes's representative for comment on the latest reports. The divorce proceedings between the former ITV This Morning hosts continue.
