Danielle Spencer has opened up about a recent reunion with her ex-husband, Russell Crowe, describing it as a 'full circle moment'. The 56-year-old singer performed at Crowe's Indoor Garden Party at Sydney's Enmore Theatre, sharing the stage with her former spouse for the first time in years.
Spencer, who has released a new album titled Regenerate, told Nine Honey that the experience was 'really lovely' and highlighted the supportive atmosphere. She noted the significance for their sons, Charles, 22, and Tennyson, 19, saying, 'It was lovely for our boys to have mum and dad both doing their thing up on stage.'
Reflecting on the performance, Spencer said, 'It felt like such a special moment; I haven't performed with Russell in a long time.' She added that the audience was supportive and the backstage energy was wonderful.
In a recent podcast interview with Stellar, Spencer discussed the emotional complexity of their split, admitting to feelings of guilt. 'It's really sad breaking up with somebody that you’ve known for so long, that you’ve had children with,' she said. 'Me kind of breaking up the family – and it felt very much like I was driving that – so I had to deal with my almost sense of guilt.'
The couple married in 2003, separated in 2012, and finalised their divorce in 2018. Spencer acknowledged that their journey was not always smooth, but their latest reunion demonstrates a strong co-parenting bond.
