Ruby Wax has broken her silence after being evicted from I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, criticising fellow camper Shona McGarty for what she described as 'selfish' and 'entitled' behaviour. The 72-year-old comedian also revealed that any hopes of a jungle romance between the EastEnders actress and rapper Aitch were unfounded, as Shona confided that he was 'not her type'.
In an interview with the Mirror, Ruby explained that Shona told her she prefers 'hunky, bigger men' and pointed to the age gap between the two, with Aitch aged 25 and Shona 34. 'I thought we could have children and we'd live in the forest forever,' Ruby said, 'but she said that's not her type.' Despite Aitch admitting he had a 'soft spot' for Shona, Ruby confirmed neither was interested.
The comedian, who was the fifth star to leave the jungle, did not hold back when discussing contraband smuggled into camp. She singled out Shona for keeping smuggled butter to herself, saying: 'That's selfish... she's verging on kind of entitlement.' Ruby also criticised Alex Scott for bringing in salt and Shona for bringing deodorant, insisting she would have confiscated it if she had known.
Ruby said she was 'devastated' to leave camp, describing it as being 'torn from my family'. She revealed that hunger was the hardest part, calling the camp meals 'appalling' and detailing dishes such as 'a chicken with web feet' and 'an eel with teeth'. However, she enjoyed her role as camp leader, which allowed her to put her feet up, quipping that 'the Queen doesn't have to work'.
