Rory McIlroy wore his Masters Green Jacket to Wimbledon on day three of the Championships, accompanied by his wife Erica Stoll. The couple appeared happily in love as they entered the grounds, having been invited into the Royal Box.
McIlroy's Green Jacket and Outfit
The golf legend, who completed a career Grand Slam last year when he triumphed at Augusta and defended that title earlier this year, was keen to show off his iconic blazer. He paired it with a green tie, white shirt, beige trousers, and brown shoes that were dyed darker on the toes.
Erica Stoll's Elegant Look
Stoll glowed in a classic white dress, gold shoes, and a matching Dior handbag. The couple walked into the grounds together, looking affectionate and united.
Relationship History and Divorce Filing
However, their relationship has been through significant turmoil in recent years. McIlroy filed for divorce in 2024 during the PGA Championship week. A spokesperson for McIlroy released a statement at the time: "Rory McIlroy's communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed. They stressed Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment."
Reconciliation
A month later, McIlroy announced he was backtracking on the decision. "There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool's game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning," McIlroy explained.
How They Met
McIlroy first met Stoll when she was working for the PGA of America at the Ryder Cup in 2012. She helped him get a police escort to the course after he misread his tee time. The pair married in 2017 and share one child, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, born in 2020.
