Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll turned heads on day three of Wimbledon as the golf star wore his Green Jacket in the Royal Box. The couple, who reconciled after McIlroy filed for divorce in 2024, appeared united and happy as they took their seats for the tennis action.
McIlroy Flashes Green Jacket at Wimbledon
McIlroy, who completed a career Grand Slam by winning the Masters in 2025 and successfully defended his title earlier this year, proudly sported his iconic Green Jacket. He paired the blazer with a green tie, white shirt, beige trousers, and brown shoes with darkened toes. Stoll complemented him elegantly in a white dress, gold shoes, and a matching Dior handbag.
Relationship Turbulence and Reconciliation
The couple's relationship has faced significant challenges. In 2024, during PGA Championship week, McIlroy filed for divorce. A spokesperson stated at the time: "Rory McIlroy's communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed. They stressed Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment."
However, just a month later, McIlroy reversed the decision. He explained: "There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool's game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning."
History of the Couple
McIlroy first met Stoll when she worked for the PGA of America at the 2012 Ryder Cup. She helped him arrange a police escort to the course after he misread his tee time. The couple married in 2017 and have one daughter, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, born in 2020. Poppy was at Augusta when McIlroy successfully defended his Masters title in April 2026.
The couple's appearance at Wimbledon marks another public outing since their reconciliation, showing they have put their differences behind them.
