Ronan Keating broke down in tears as he spoke about his brother Ciaran's tragic death in a preview clip from his upcoming BBC documentary, Ronan Keating's Wild Atlantic. The Boyzone star will embark on a journey along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Coast, exploring his childhood and family life.
In the first episode, Ronan is joined by his nephew Ruairí, Ciaran's son. The pair engage in traditional Irish road bowling, visit a rewilding project, and explore a Tibetan Buddhist temple. The documentary aims to help Ronan understand his brother's decision to move west and come to terms with his grief.
Ciaran Keating died at age 57 in 2023 following a two-vehicle collision in County Mayo. Ronan sang 'This Is Your Song' at the funeral, a song originally written for their mother. In the preview, Ronan tearfully expressed regret over lost time with his brother after joining Boyzone.
Speaking to Ruairí, Ronan said: 'I was the baby. He was my older brother, my eldest brother, and he's my hero.' He added that he had 'parked his emotions' for two years and found it hard to grieve. Ruairí shared how he still looks for his father after football matches, and Ronan assured him that Ciaran was immensely proud.
