Cristiano Ronaldo has officially proposed to Georgina Rodriguez after nearly a decade together, presenting her with a massive diamond ring that has left fans in awe. The 40-year-old football star popped the question following years of speculation, with Georgina, 31, debuting the ring to her 67 million Instagram followers.
The ring features a central oval diamond estimated by gemologist Olivia Landau to be between 10 and 15 carats, flanked by two smaller oval side stones of 2–3 carats each, set in platinum with double claw prongs. Landau valued the ring at several million dollars, depending on the quality of the stones.
Fans were quick to comment on the ring's size, with one calling it a 'glacier' and another joking it was 'pretty small.' Some questioned its practicality, suggesting it would be uncomfortable for washing dishes, while others speculated it might be AI-generated or photoshopped. Despite the mixed reactions, Georgina appeared thrilled, posting 'Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.'
The couple met in 2016 at a Gucci store, with Ronaldo describing it as love at first sight. In a 2019 interview, he said Georgina is 'the greatest love of my life' and hinted at marriage, though he noted the timing wasn't right. Earlier this year, he referred to her as 'my wife' in a birthday post, fueling engagement rumors.
Georgina's Netflix reality show, I Am Georgina, has documented friends' persistent questions about wedding plans. She admitted the decision is not up to her, saying, 'This is not up to me.' The couple share two children together, and Ronaldo has described her as 'the mother of my kids' and a 'fantastic person.'
