Music legend Sir Rod Stewart found himself at the heart of an impromptu pub singalong during a night out in Scotland this week. The iconic singer, 81, was enjoying a drink at a local establishment in Falkirk when he was persuaded to join in with the venue's karaoke session.
A Spontaneous Pub Performance
The Maggie May hitmaker happily obliged the enthusiastic locals, lending his famous voice to a rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival's classic, Have You Ever Seen the Rain. He was accompanied on the low-key evening out by his 20-year-old son, Alastair, whom he shares with his wife, Penny Lancaster. The couple are also parents to a younger son, Aiden, aged 14.
Embracing the convivial atmosphere, Rod was seen giving one delighted punter a hug before leaving. He bid the crowd a warm farewell, saying 'cheers everybody God bless' as he departed, much to the delight of those present.
Personal Reflections and Future Plans
The lighthearted pub visit comes as Sir Rod has been reflecting on more serious, long-term matters. In a recent candid television appearance, the rockstar opened up about his wishes for after his death. Appearing with Penny in BBC One's My Life At Christmas, interviewed by journalist Anita Rani at their home, Durrington House, Rod discussed where he would like to be buried.
He reportedly expressed a desire to be laid to rest in the garden of their estate, specifically next to the grave of their beloved cavapoo dog, Bubbles. Penny Lancaster humorously added that they might need to establish a formal family cemetery, noting the legal implications for future property owners.
A Heartfelt Tribute from a Loving Wife
Speaking to The Mirror ahead of the TV special, Penny shared a deeply emotional tribute to her husband of 18 years. She described finding one another as a 'gift' and said the thought of their close-knit family brings a lump to her throat. Rod, pragmatic about mortality, reportedly stated, 'Look it happens to all of us'.
The singer is a father to eight children spanning 47 years, from five different relationships. His family includes daughters Sarah, 61, Kimberly, 45, Ruby, 37, and Renee, 33, as well as sons Sean, 44, Liam, 30, and the two sons he shares with Penny. My Life At Christmas with Rod and Penny aired on BBC One on December 7.
