Rod Stewart looked in high spirits as he returned to the stands to support his beloved Celtic just days after revealing he had undergone heart surgery.
The 81-year-old music legend was all smiles as he watched Celtic secure a 3-0 victory over Austrian side LASK on Wednesday night, with his 20-year-old son Alastair by his side.
Health setback and recovery
Rod's appearance comes after he announced that he had undergone a "routine coronary stent procedure" and would be taking four weeks away from performing to recover on doctors' advice. The procedure also forced the Maggie May hitmaker to cancel upcoming dates on his One Last Time tour, including a six-night run at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The rocker has endured a string of health setbacks in recent months, including cancelled shows and a gig where he needed oxygen after struggling to catch his breath.
Back in familiar surroundings
But his latest appearance showed Rod back in familiar surroundings, proudly cheering on the Scottish football club he has supported for decades. Rod was pictured soaking up the atmosphere as Celtic battled it out on the pitch during the match.
The music icon was joined by his 20-year-old son Alastair for the football outing at Celtic Park, and couldn't hide his smile as he watched Celtic race to a 3-0 victory over their Austrian opponents.
