Daily Star reporter Bekka Barnard attended Rock for People festival in Hradec Králové's Park 360, a five-day rock music event held on a former military airfield. She was impressed by the festival's organization and amenities, particularly the Mastercard stage VIP area, which she credits with saving her weekend.
VIP Heaven at Mastercard Stage
The Mastercard stage offered a VIP tent with a buffet table stocked with hash browns, pizza, salad, desserts, and ice lollies, plus a fully stocked bar. Outside, hanging egg chairs provided a relaxing spot to recharge. Free dispensers with plasters and earplugs were a thoughtful touch. A balcony platform gave Barnard, who is short, a perfect view of the stage, allowing her to watch Don Broco, Nothing But Thieves, and Halsey for over six hours.
Comfortable Accommodation
Barnard stayed at the EA Congress Hotel Aldis, which offered warm showers and comfortable beds. The hotel kept its breakfast buffet open until 11am daily, and free shuttle buses ran from various points in Hradec Králové to the festival site.
Impressive Lineup and Stage Setup
The festival featured a stacked lineup including Iron Maiden, Bring Me The Horizon, Halsey, Wolf Alice, and Papa Roach. The Mastercard stage hosted theatrical acts with large sets and pyrotechnics, while the Rock for People stage was smaller with hill seating. Lineup scheduling avoided clashes between major acts, which attendees appreciated.
Underrated Festival
Rock for People, now in its 31st year, has previously featured Linkin Park, Slipknot, Green Day, The Prodigy, Muse, and Avenged Sevenfold. Barnard notes it flies under the radar for UK crowds compared to Download and Hellfest. Blink-182 have been announced as headliners for Rock for People 2027.
