The 52-year-old singer was speaking to German TV channel Magenta Sport after the World Cup final on Sunday night, where Argentina faced Spain. While discussing the match with pundits, a small white object tumbled from his mouth onto his microphone. He managed to remove it from the mic, but it then landed on his forehead when he rubbed his head moments later.
Robbie's Apology and Explanation
Addressing the incident online, Robbie posted a video on Instagram explaining what the object was. He remarked: 'I'd just like to apologise for the object that fell on to the microphone yesterday. I was deeply unprofessional, and people worried about me. But it's OK. Because I had several more.' Robbie then stuck his tongue out to reveal two circular mints as he burst out laughing. He captioned the post: 'Just woke up and feeling.... Mint x.'
