Rob Beckett has revealed that he is to take a "step back" from his television career. The comedian, 40, has been a familiar face on the box for well over a decade, and recently signed up to appear on Celebrity Traitors.
But now, the star, most famous for his presenting roles on Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats as well as its Countdown spin-off, has admitted that it is time to take a break from his busy career.

Rob, who has been married to Lou Watts since 2015 and has two daughters with her, explained: "I'm trying to be at home more, more relaxed. I've done quite a lot, I think I need to chill out a bit – it's getting a bit needy isn't it. I've got a bit of time off in autumn and I'm looking forward to being at home more and being more present."
Speaking to The Sun, he added: "Because I'm getting older and the kids are too, so I'm trying to work a little bit less and be there for them."
Stepping back for his wife's career
Earlier this year, Rob revealed he was taking a little step back from the limelight while she stepped into it as she ventured into the world of publishing.
Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Rob explained: 'I've got a bit of time off because my wife Lou has written a book called Lessons From A Default Parent and that is out at the end of February..."Because she took a career break to look after the kids while I crack on and now I'm stepping back a little bit so that she can have a bash of it and spread her wings."

Rob is thought to have met Louise when they were both in their 20s, and they dated for several years before tying the knot in 2015.
The star had studied tourism management at university, but when comedy came calling he decided to give it a go. And he's since shared that he managed it with Louise's backing, with the Daily Mail once quoting him as saying: "She became a history teacher and paid all the bills for three years when I was earning no money as a comedian."
Rob recently shared his pride after Louise penned her book, telling fans on Instagram: "Lou's an incredibly funny, honest and compassionate writer and it was only a matter of time before everyone else got to see her skills.
"One of the hardest things in life to do is put your head above the parapet and say 'hello world this is who I am and what I think' and she's done it," he said. "So proud. The book is excellent, luckily I get a right of reply cos I get absolutely rinsed in it."
