Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are preparing to welcome their third child, with the rapper seemingly confirming they are expecting a baby girl. The couple, who have been together since 2019, already share two sons: RZA Athelston, born in May 2022, and Riot Rose, born in August 2023.
Rihanna announced her third pregnancy at the Met Gala in May this year. Over the weekend, A$AP Rocky attended the premiere of 'Smurfs' in Brussels, where he was asked by Entertainment Tonight whether their third baby is 'the girl you've been waiting for?' He replied, 'It is, man, it is,' before holding up a Smurfette toy.
When later asked the same question, Rihanna was more coy, teasing, 'Let's see if it's a Smurfette! I don't know! Could be a Papa Smurf! Who knows!' However, she confirmed that the baby's name will follow the family tradition, stating, 'It's always going to be an R name, that's the one thing me and Rocky don't fight over.'
Speaking about motherhood in a 2023 interview with British Vogue, Rihanna described it as 'legendary' and 'everything'. She recalled the early days with her firstborn, saying, 'You walk into the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It's nuts.' She also shared tender moments, such as rolling her son's bassinet into the bathroom to peek at him while showering.
