Helen Skelton, the 42-year-old TV presenter known for her work on BBC's Blue Peter and Countryfile, has had a public life marked by career success and personal heartbreak. She rose to fame co-hosting Blue Peter from 2008 to 2013, later becoming a regular on Countryfile and fronting Holiday Hit Squad. In 2022, she finished second on Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Gorka Márquez.
Currently, Helen presents BBC's Morning Live from Salford alongside Gethin Jones, Greg Rutherford and Michelle Ackerley. Her personal life drew attention in 2013 when she married England rugby league player Richie Myler. The couple had three children: Ernie, Louis and Elsie, before separating in April 2022. Helen announced the split on Instagram, stating that Myler had left the family home.
In her autobiography In My Stride, Helen described the shock of the breakup, saying she 'didn't see it coming'. Further heartache followed when Myler began a relationship with marketing executive Stephanie Thirkill, who gave birth to their child in April 2023.
Rumours of a romance with co-star Gethin Jones have been repeatedly denied by both. In December 2025, Helen clarified: 'We just work together, we are not together.' Jones echoed this, describing their relationship as supportive colleagues.
