Richard Osman's daughter Ruby makes public debut at OBE ceremony

Richard Osman received his OBE from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, with his wife Ingrid Oliver and daughter Ruby by his side. The 55-year-old author and former Pointless star was honoured for services to literature and broadcasting.

Ruby, making her public debut, stood only half a head shorter than her 6'7" father. Richard has previously said his daughter is six feet tall, joking, 'I don't know where she gets that from.' She wore a red dress, befitting her name, and towered over her stepmother.

After the ceremony, Osman expressed pride in his British heritage, saying, 'I'm very proud of the opportunities this country gave me... I owe this country an awful lot, and I intend to pay as much of that back as I can.' He also noted a 'nice chat' with Princess Anne, though he found the protocol nerve-wracking.

Ruby, who works at the Tony Blair Institute and studied in China, was the subject of a 2015 Daily Mail piece by her father. He recalled visiting China with her and his son, calling it 'one of the best decisions I've ever made.'
