Richard Madeley storms off GMB set over popcorn prank

Good Morning Britain descended into chaos on Tuesday when Richard Madeley stormed off set after co-host Kate Garraway ate popcorn next to him.

Pet peeve revealed

The 59-year-old broadcaster had just confessed that one of his biggest pet peeves was people eating food next to him, particularly in cinemas. Amused by the revelation, Garraway pulled a bag of popcorn from the coffee table cabinet and began eating it, much to Madeley's disgust.

As the show prepared to hand over to This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, Madeley sat with a look of disgust. Garraway laughed and said: "He's the fun police; he doesn't like people eating next to him."

Storming off

She then threw another piece of popcorn into her mouth, prompting Madeley to sigh and walk off set. Garraway declared: "He's had enough, he's stormed off set!"
