Coronation Street fans have been left stunned after discovering that Richard Fleeshman's mother, Sue Jenkins, also appeared on the iconic ITV soap. Richard, who played Craig Harris from 2002 to 2006, comes from a showbiz family, with his sister Rosie Fleeshman also making a guest appearance on the cobbles last month.
Richard Fleeshman's Corrie Role
Richard first appeared on Coronation Street in 2002 as Craig Harris, part of the Harris family who arrived in Weatherfield under a witness protection scheme. His on-screen family included father Tommy Harris (Thomas Craig), mother Angela Harris (Kathryn Hunt), and sister Katy (Lucy-Jo Hudson). Craig was at the heart of several dramatic storylines, including a relationship with Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan). In 2005, his sister Katy murdered their father Tommy in a fit of rage, and their mother Angela took the blame; Katy later ended her own life. Craig left the soap in 2006.
Who Is Richard Fleeshman's Mum?
Richard's mother, Sue Jenkins, joined Coronation Street in 1985 as Gloria Todd, becoming a familiar face in the Rovers Return alongside Julie Goodyear's Bet Lynch. Outside Corrie, Sue played Jackie Corkhill in Brookside from 1992 to 2001 and had a short role in Emmerdale in 2008 as Bonnie Drinkwater. Richard has credited his parents, including father David Fleeshman (known for Boys from the Blackstuff), as the inspiration for his career. Appearing on Loose Women in 2024, he said of his mother's Brookside role: "She was amazing in that show. I was allowed to watch certain episodes growing up."
