Adele's Fiancé Rich Paul Opens Up About Their Private Relationship for the First Time
Rich Paul Shares Rare Insight Into Relationship With Adele

Adele's fiancé, Rich Paul, has offered a rare glimpse into their private five-year relationship, sharing details of how they first met and the 'cordial spark' that eventually blossomed into romance.

How They Met

Speaking on the Glass Half Full podcast with Craig Melvin, the 45-year-old sports agent revealed that the couple did not meet at a basketball game, as many assumed. Instead, they were introduced 'through a friend' and initially shared a platonic connection.

'You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles,' Rich explained. 'But I never tried to get fresh with people that’s in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with that, so that was never my thing.'

He added that they met several times before getting together, describing the relationship as 'something that happened very organically.'

From Cordial to Romantic

Rich recalled that they would 'always see each other, laugh and joke. It was just cordial, really, just cordial.' Over time, their feelings deepened, and they decided to start dating. Adele, 38, announced their engagement in 2024, three years after they were first linked following the release of her album 30.

Blending Families

Both Adele and Rich have been married before and have children from previous relationships. Adele shares 13-year-old son Angelo with ex-husband Simon Konecki, while Rich has three children: Reonna, Richie, and Zane. The couple is said to be looking forward to blending their families and possibly having children together.

Didn't Listen to Her Music

In a surprising revelation, Rich admitted that he didn't listen to Adele's music before their relationship. While he couldn't help but hear 'monster hits' like Hello and Chasing Pavements, he said he was 'on the pulse of a lot of different things' and not a regular listener.

Life in the US

Tottenham-born Adele has been living in the US for years with her son and now Rich. During the final performance of her Las Vegas residency in November 2024, she thanked her son for his patience, saying she chose a residency to keep his life normal and avoid touring.
