Reuben Owen has confirmed that just one more episode of Life in the Dales remains in the current season, prompting fans to demand a new series. The young farmer, who first rose to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm, shared the update on social media after the penultimate episode aired on Tuesday evening.
Reuben Owen's update on Life in the Dales
The Life in the Dales team posted on social media: "What an amazing penultimate episode! Only one more to go! Here's some BTS of our wonderful cast and crew. Catch the season finale next week at 8pm on Channel 5. If you missed tonight's, don't worry, you can catch up at channel5.com!"
Fans rushed to share their support, with one writing: "Great episode. I really felt for Jess during the TB testing, so glad all went well, it's a joy to see her relationship with the cows. Lovely to see the success of the auction, congratulations Sonny and Capper - Reuben working his mechanical magic again!! What an exciting finale!!! Wow! Those balloons were magnificent."
Fans demand another series
Another viewer said: "This is the best feelgood programme. I can't wait for Tuesdays congratulations on making so many people happy!" A third added: "I could watch an episode of the team every week. It's great tv viewing."
Someone else commented: "Really enjoyed the show once again, glad to see the TB tests went OK on the farm. Looking forward to next week already, but gutted it'll be the last episode for now." Another echoed: "Penultimate episode? Noooooooo. When is the next series?" One fan wrote: "Love watching you guys. I shall be sad on the last episode you better make another series pleaseeeeeee."
Emotional episode with TB testing
Tuesday's episode saw Jess fear for devastating deaths on the farm as her herd of cows were tested for bovine tuberculosis, which, if positive, would have meant they'd have to be slaughtered. She said: "I love what I do, I've done it since I was tiny, it's my dream job. I just love every part of it. I love getting up in the morning and seeing all the cows. These cows, we've bred them over the years, grandad's bred them and we've still got the same bloodline coming through. If we lost all these cows in one day, it would be devastating. Words can't really describe, it would be heartbreaking."
Life in the Dales airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 5, with the season finale scheduled for next week.
