Ree Drummond, the star of Food Network's The Pioneer Woman, has revealed a lighthearted secret to her long-lasting marriage to husband Ladd Drummond. The couple, who have been married for 27 years, recently shared a relatable date-night mishap on Instagram that fans found endearing.
In a post from their vacation in Vail, Colorado, Ree posted a photo of the pair smiling at Mountain Standard restaurant. She explained that she initially ordered a burger with onion rings, planning to also have some of Ladd's fries. However, Ladd had ordered a burger with onion rings because he wanted onion rings. Ree then changed her order to fries, wanting both. Ultimately, Ladd suggested they both get fries and split a side of onion rings, leading Ree to caption the post: 'And that's why we've been married 27 years.'
Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise, with one writing: 'Sharing food is the secret. 41 years over here,' and another adding: 'Teamwork makes the marriage work!' The couple's ability to compromise and find equitable solutions was widely celebrated.
Ree and Ladd met at a bar in Oklahoma shortly after she returned from Los Angeles. They married on September 21, 1996, and have five children together: Alex, 26; Paige, 23; Bryce, 20; Todd, 19; and Jamar, 20, whom they fostered and later adopted. Ree has previously described their first kiss as a life-changing moment, saying, 'When that kiss was over, my life as I'd always imagined it was over, too.'
