Rebecca Loos has opened up about her affair with David Beckham during a gruelling interrogation on Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The former personal assistant, who now works as a yoga teacher in Norway, faced tough questions from directing staff Jason Fox and Chris Oliver in the show's Mirror Room.
Loos, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since the scandal broke in 2004, said she wanted to show her true self on the show. 'I just wanted to show people who I am and just be myself,' she said. 'I was quite nervous as to how the others would perceive me. I was nervous and apprehensive as to how the show would be edited.'
During the interrogation, Loos was asked about her feelings towards Beckham, who she claims had a four-month fling with her while he was at Real Madrid. She criticised the former England captain for failing to take accountability in his 2023 Netflix documentary, calling his approach 'the coward's way'. 'It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth and to own up to mistakes that you have made... and it's very easy to just brush them under the carpet and move on. That's like the coward's way, I think, of living,' she said.
Loos admitted she had developed a thick skin after years of public scrutiny. 'I've had a lifetime of opinions around me,' she said. 'I think the public opinion now has softened, at least from what I'm gathering since the documentary came out with the Beckhams a couple of years ago.'
The 48-year-old mother of two said the SAS experience had a profound impact on her, leading her to quit alcohol. 'They gave me a bit of SAS grit,' she said. 'When I came out of the show, I had made some changes in my life... I quit alcohol. That was the first thing I did.'
