Rebecca Loos has broken her silence following the release of David Beckham's Netflix documentary series, in which he and his wife Victoria discussed the impact of affair allegations that emerged nearly two decades ago. Loos, 46, who worked as Beckham's personal assistant during his time at Real Madrid, claimed in 2004 that she had an extramarital affair with the former England captain. Beckham has consistently denied the allegations, describing them as 'ludicrous'.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Loos said Beckham is 'portraying himself as the victim' and making her 'look like a liar'. She added: 'He can say whatever he likes of course and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he's making me look like a liar, like I've made up these stories.'
In the documentary, Beckham described the period as 'difficult' and said he and Victoria felt like they were 'drowning'. Victoria recalled it as 'the hardest period for us' and admitted they were 'against each other'. Loos responded: 'He is indirectly suggesting that I'm the one who has made Victoria suffer.'
Loos first made her allegations in the now-defunct News of the World in April 2004, claiming a four-month affair after Beckham's transfer from Manchester United. Beckham never launched legal action against Loos or the newspaper. The documentary sees the couple reflect on the strain the scandal placed on their marriage.
