Rebecca Loos has spoken out about the fallout from her alleged affair with David Beckham, describing the experience as 'unjust' and saying her life became 'hell' while the former footballer's career continued to flourish. Loos, who worked as Beckham's personal assistant in the early 2000s, made headlines when she claimed the pair had an affair, allegations Beckham has always denied as 'ludicrous'.
Now 48, Loos reflected on the intense scrutiny she faced at the time, including being branded a 'sleazy senorita' and accused of trying to ruin Beckham's marriage to Victoria Beckham. She said the public backlash was overwhelming, but she has since developed a 'thick skin'. Loos also criticised the Beckhams' 2023 Netflix documentary, calling it an attempt to portray 'an image of perfection that was nothing like reality'.
Loos admitted she bears some responsibility for the situation, saying: 'I think I've definitely taken most of the blame – rightly so. It was part of my life. He was older than me, he was my boss.' She added that she felt the documentary failed to take any accountability, and she was frustrated that Beckham said it was 'horrible to see my wife suffer' without acknowledging his own actions.
Loos is set to appear on the reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where she faced questions about the affair in the show's 'Mirror Room'. She said she was initially guarded but decided to be honest, stating: 'It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth and to own up to mistakes... It's very easy to just brush them under the carpet and move on. That's like the coward's way.'
After the scandal, Loos found fame as a reality TV star, appearing on shows like The Farm and Celebrity Love Island, before eventually leaving the spotlight to become a yoga teacher in Norway. She now believes public opinion has softened, partly due to social media, but described it as a 'double-edged sword'.
