Rebecca Loos has broken her silence on David Beckham's new Netflix documentary series, accusing the former England captain of portraying himself as a victim over their alleged affair 20 years ago.
In 2004, Loos, then Beckham's personal assistant in Madrid, claimed she had a four-month relationship with the footballer while he was playing for Real Madrid. Beckham dismissed the allegations as 'ludicrous' at the time, but never took legal action.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Loos said: 'It's all, 'poor me'. He needs to take responsibility. He can say whatever he likes of course and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he's making me look like a liar, like I've made up these stories.'
She also took issue with the documentary's depiction of Victoria Beckham's suffering, saying: 'He is indirectly suggesting that I'm the one who has made Victoria suffer.'
In the series, Beckham describes the period as 'drowning' and says he felt 'physically sick every day'. Victoria admits the couple were 'against each other' during the difficult time.
