Actress Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she once refused to work with a co-star who screamed at her on set, leaving her in tears. The Swedish star described the individual as an 'absolute idiot of a co-star' during an appearance on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast.
Ferguson, known for her role in Dune: Part Two, said the unnamed actor criticised her in front of the entire crew, asking, 'You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with?' She felt 'so scared' during the confrontation, which involved being 'screamed at'.
The actress explained that because the co-star was 'number one on a call sheet', there was no safety net for her. She eventually told the individual to 'get off my set' and said she would act towards a tennis ball instead. When producers insisted the star had to be present, Ferguson requested to act to the back of their head.
Ferguson noted that the director later admitted he was not taking care of everyone else and was trying to 'fluff this person because it's so unstable'. She said she has only become confident enough to stand up to such behaviour in the last 10 or 12 years, despite acting since age 16.
While Ferguson did not name the co-star, she confirmed it was not Tom Cruise or Hugh Jackman. Dwayne Johnson, who co-starred with Ferguson in Hercules, responded on X, calling her his 'guardian angel' and expressing a desire to find out who did this.
