Reba McEntire has shared new details about her engagement to Rex Linn, revealing that the actor proposed in December 2024, nearly ten months before the couple confirmed their status at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2025. The country music legend, 70, and Linn, 68, began dating in 2020.
Speaking to People, McEntire gushed about her fiancé: "I've never been loved by a man like Rex Linn. Rex is a very tender-hearted man, and I just love him with all my heart. He's a good guy. Real bashful though." This is the third marriage for McEntire, who was previously married to Charlie Battles (1976-1987) and Narvel Blackstock (1989-2015).
The couple co-star in the sitcom Happy's Place, which McEntire described as a "blast." She said: "Wherever we go, that is our Happy's Place. Getting to work with Rex, drive to work with Rex and do the show, the rehearsals, drive home, talk about it, rehearse together – that's what's really special for me. I've not had that before."
Reflecting on her life in her 70s, McEntire spoke about learning to live in the moment rather than dwelling on the past or future. "I used to think being content was a no-no... That's not true because you always try to improve your health," she explained. "Quit living for tomorrow and for yesterday. That's really hard to do, but it's so rewarding when it clicks."
Asked about retirement, McEntire quoted Dolly Parton: "Why would I? What in the world could I do and have as much fun as what I'm doing in this job right now?" She added that she plans to slow down but has no intention of retiring, especially with Happy's Place returning for a second season next month.
