Rapture stars praise Wales filming on The One Show

India Amarteifio and Ruth Madeley appeared on The One Show on Wednesday to discuss their roles in the BBC's new psychological thriller, The Rapture. The five-part series is adapted from Liz Jensen's bestselling novel and follows forensic psychologist Gabs Fox (Ruth) and her complex relationship with 17-year-old Bethany Krall (India), a teenager convicted of killing her mother who claims she has psychic abilities to predict catastrophes.

Filming in Wales

During the interview, Amarteifio said she stayed on a working farm in Cowbridge, Wales, during production. “It was amazing, I stayed on a working farm with a lovely family in Cowbridge. I literally can’t wait to go back… It’s so peaceful, so I really utilised the stables to hand and the cows. Just being able to look at a vast horizon at the end of the day was beautiful,” she said, adding that grounding herself after filming such dark material was important.

Winter Heatwave Challenge

The duo revealed that filming took place in October and November in Wales, but the scenes required them to appear in a heatwave. “We were sat in shorts and a vest. We had heat packs galore everywhere,” Amarteifio explained. “Some of the scenes that have come out, I’m so confused as to how it looks 40 degrees when I know it was raining on that scene.”
