Gordon Ramsay's Vegas Fish and Chips Slammed by Food Critic
Ramsay's Vegas Fish and Chips Slammed by Critic

Food critic Gary Hanna has heavily criticised Gordon Ramsay's Fish and Chips restaurant in Las Vegas, giving it zero marks after a disappointing meal and an expensive bill. Hanna, who runs the Gary Eats YouTube channel, visited the venue just off the Las Vegas Strip to review the celebrity chef's take on the British classic.

Having previously enjoyed meals at Ramsay's restaurants, Hanna was keen to see what the chef offered, especially as the establishment attracts visitors from around the world hoping to try fish and chips for the first time. However, the experience quickly turned sour, with Hanna questioning both the food quality and the pricing.

Order and Costs

Hanna ordered the fish and chips combination, along with chicken, sausage and shrimp, plus a selection of sauces. He also bought a small bottle of Fiji water, priced at $6.99 (£5.20). Reacting to the cost, he said: "I'm rather hot, but I'm going to get a bottle of water as well. Small Fiji water. $6.99. I'm off my head. $6.99 for some water."

The meal itself proved underwhelming, with Hanna comparing it unfavourably to a fish and chip establishment he had recently watched being reviewed. He remarked: "I can honestly say, hand on heart, the award for the worst fish and chips has been taken away from the likes of Mr Rick Stein and others. It comes here to you, Mr Ramsay."

Criticism of the Food

Hanna said the chips tasted as if they had been warmed up multiple times, and he was disappointed with the fish portion. "The chips are just frozen chips," he stated, before adding: "They didn't taste that good. In fact, they tasted pretty rubbish." He also raised concerns about two undersized pieces of cod, questioning whether they had been properly prepared.

He went on: "Come on, Gordon. That's not fish and chips, is it? That's not fish and chips. That's hand-cut chips and a proper piece of haddock, cod or whatever fish that you chuck out." The tartare sauce was described as "rubbish", and he was equally critical of the extra items, including chicken at $4.99 (£3.70) and two pieces of shrimp at $7.99 (£5.95). The shrimp were, in his opinion, the highlight of the meal.

Bill and Refund Demand

The final bill, including tax and gratuity, came to $56.95 (£42.50). "Total: $56.95. Incensed. That's what I am, incensed," he remarked. Hanna gave the restaurant zero marks but stressed that his comments were not a judgement on all of Ramsay's restaurants. "I'm making it really clear. I've been to Gordon's restaurants and I've praised so many of them," he clarified.

He urged Ramsay and his management team to reassess the menu, suggesting the dish should authentically showcase a British classic. Hanna said he would have requested a refund if the restaurant had been in the UK, remarking: "If you do happen to watch it, Gordon and your management team, yeah, can you transfer me back $56.95, is there, okay? Because you've just ripped me off."

Later, Hanna returned to his channel to disclose that he had felt unwell and had taken Imodium. He explained: "Sorry, Gordon, you owe me another $23. My night in Vegas... has ended." He concluded that it had been among the most disappointing experiences he had documented, assuring his audience that his next video would offer a more positive assessment.
